France loosens restrictions for travelers from UK

French Transport Minister Jean-Baptiste Djebarri announced on Tuesday that people who travel from the United Kingdom will be allowed to enter France, providing that they have recently tested negative for COVID-19.

Djebarri clarified that "French nationals, people living in France and those with a legitimate reason will have to be carrying a negative test" and he added that mass transportation between the two countries will be restored starting from December 23. On the other hand, there is no information concerning the handling of hauliers who remain blocked near Kent area in the UK.

UK Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps urged truck drivers to avoid traveling to Kent and he promised to provide further information on the issue within hours.
