French inflation up to 2.8% in November

The French Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.8% in November, according to a preliminary report by the country's statistical office INSEE. The figure marks an increase from October's annual inflation rate of 2.6%.

Energy prices contributed the most to the jump as they soared 21.6% on an annual basis. Services prices climbed 1.9%, while food prices were up 0.4%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices were seen growing 0.4%, while the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices is expected to rise 3.4% year on year and 0.4% month on month.
