German industrial production drops in October

Industrial production in Europe's largest economy dropped 1.7% in October compared to the previous month, Destatis reported on Friday. On a yearly basis, industrial production in Germany fell 5.3%, adjusted for price and calendar variations, the biggest drop in a decade.

According to the report, the production of intermediate goods rose by 1.0%, while the production of consumer goods went up by 0.3%. The production of capital goods decreased by 4.4%.

Finally, energy production jumped by 2.3% as production in construction dipped by 2.8%.
