German producer prices down 0.5% in November

Producer prices in Germany decreased by 0.5% year-on-year in November, the country's statistical office Destatis reported on Friday. The index was 0.2% up in comparison to October.

Energy prices fell by 2.7% on a yearly basis, but advanced 0.4% from the prior month. Prices of intermediate goods rose by 0.2% from November 2019 and by 0.3% from October 2020, while the prices of capital goods increased by 0.8% on an annual basis but declined 0.1% month-on-month.

Prices of durable consumer goods were 1.5% and 0.1% higher compared to November 2019 and October 2020, respectively. Non-durable consumer goods' prices decreased by 0.7% year-over-year, but remained unchanged in comparison to the previous month.
