German producer prices up 15.8% in February
Producer prices in Germany increased by 15.8% year-on-year in February, the country's statistical office Destatis reported on Monday. The index was 0.3% down in comparison to the previous month.
Energy prices jumped 27.6% on a yearly basis but declined 1.4% from the prior month. Prices of intermediate goods rose by 8.6% from February 2022 and by 0.1% from January 2023, while the prices of capital goods increased by 7.7% annually and by 0.4% month-on-month.
Prices of durable consumer goods were 10.5% and 0.2% higher compared to February 2022 and January 2023, respectively. Non-durable consumer goods' prices grew 17.9% year-over-year and 0.9% in comparison to the previous month.
