German trade surplus jumps to €6.9B in October
Germany's calendar and seasonally adjusted foreign trade surplus stood at €6.9 billion in October, increasing from September's figure of €3.7 billion, according to data released by Destatis on Friday.
Exports amounted to €133.5 billion, declining 0.6% month on month but jumping 14.2% compared to October 2021. Exports to the European Union amounted to €71.4 billion, while exports to third countries stood at €62.1 billion. Imports dropped 3.7% month on month and surged 20.9% year on year to reach €126.6 billion, out of which €63 billion worth of goods came from the EU. Imports from third countries stood at €63.6 billion.
Meanwhile, the non-seasonally adjusted foreign trade surplus was €12.5 billion in October.
