Germany to lift travel ban for EU countries on June 15

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas (pictured) unveiled on Wednesday that the country decided to remove travel restrictions for the European Union (EU) countries and the United Kingdom, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland starting from 15 June.

Nevertheless, Germany will still advise its citizens to avoid unnecessary trips to the UK due to a 14-day quarantine requirement after entering that country.

The government will provide guidelines for international travel to specific countries, Maas said, adding that "there will be no return campaign for German vacationers again this summer."
