Germany's factory orders decline by 0.2% in April

Seasonally and price-adjusted new factory orders in Germany went down by 0.2% in April in comparison to the month before, failing expectations, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in its report on Monday. On the other hand, the figure still saw an annual rise of 78.9%, more than projected.

Domestic orders dropped by 4.3%, while conversely, foreign orders grew by 2.7% month-on-month. New orders from the Eurozone advanced by 0.7%, and those from other countries expanded by 3.8% in the same period.

The figure for consumer goods observed a monthly rise of 1.4%, and capital goods of 0.2%. On the other hand, new orders for intermediate goods decreased by 1.0%.
