Germany's producer prices down 1% in September

Producer prices in Germany fell by 1% year-over-year in September, the country's statistical office Destatis reported on Tuesday. Compared to the prior month, the figure was up by 0.4%.

Energy prices dropped 3.3% per annum with petroleum products decreasing 17.9% and prices of natural gas falling 8.2%. The overall producer price index excluding energy slid 0.2% versus September 2019.

Meanwhile, prices of intermediate goods shrunk by 1.3% year-on-year. Non-durable consumer goods' prices were down 0.1% in comparison to the same period last year, while durable consumer goods added 1.4%. Prices of capital goods rose 0.9% annually.
