Germany's producer prices down by 0.7% in October
Producer prices in Germany dropped by 0.7% on an annual basis in October, in line with expectations, the country's statistical office Destatis revealed on Friday. Compared to the previous month, the figure increased by 0.1%.
Energy prices decreased by 2.9% in comparison to the same period last year, with petroleum products going down by 16.0% and natural gas by 5.2%. On the other hand, the overall index, excluding energy, rose by 0.1% year-on-year.
Prices of intermediate and non-durable consumer goods declined by 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively, compared to October 2019. On the other hand, the fees went up by 0.9% for capital goods and by 1.4% for durable consumer goods on an annual basis.
