GM to invest $6.5B in two Michigan plants - report

Next week, General Motors Company will unveil plans on a $6.5 billion investment into two Michigan plants, The Detroit News reported on Friday, citing a meeting agenda and two people briefed on the plans.

The vehicle manufacturer will allocate $4 billion for its Lake Orion facility, where it plans to make electric trucks, the media outlet said.

GM, in cooperation with LG Energy Solution, will also invest $2.5 billion into an electric vehicle battery cell factory in Lansing.
