GM to restart Bolt EV production in end of January - report

General Motors Co plans to restart the production of its Chevy Bolt EV and EUV in the last week of January 2022, Electrek reported on Thursday.

The report indicates that GM isn't rushing to get back into production due to the global supply chain issues and semiconductor shortages. However, the extended pause means that GM is further away from its goal of having 20 different electric vehicles on the road by 2023.

GM recalled its electric vehicles and paused their manufacturing due to battery issues, a move that reportedly cost the company nearly two billion dollars.
