Alphabet Inc.'s Google LLC is restructuring the unit behind its Assistant service, CNBC reported, citing an internal company memo. With the plan it has revealed to its employees, Google is reportedly highlighting Bard, its artificial intelligence chat project and a potential competitor to ChatGPT, as its priority.
The company supposedly also announced the departure of Google Assistant Engineering Vice President Jianchang Mao, specifying that he will be succeeded by Peeyush Ranjan, who most recently oversaw payments at the company's commerce organization.
