GOP Rep. Nunes to be CEO of Trump media firm - report

United States Representative Devin Nunes is leaving Congress, Fox News reported on Monday. According to sources, the Republican lawmaker is stepping down in order to become "CEO of a newly established Trump media organization," the Trump Media & Technology Group.

Nunes was first elected to Congress in 2002, at the age of 29, and has held his seat representing California's 22nd district ever since. He was a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, serving on his transition team. He was also chair of the House Intelligence Committee from 2015 to 2019, leading the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election and denying Trump's connections to Russia. He also held a prominent role in Trump's first impeachment hearings in 2019, voting to acquit the president.
