Gove: 'Rishi has it'

Michael Gove (pictured), who until July 6 this year served as British housing and "leveling up" secretary, expressed his deep support for Former United Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak in his race to become the country's next prime minister.

Writing in the Times, Gove said he does not expect to be in the government again, claiming, however, that due to his experience he knows ''what the job requires.'' The politician said he truly believes Sunak would be a good prime minister that would ''put the strength of the state at the service of the weakest,'' providing them with the necessary support in these challenging times, as opposed to British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss' strategy, referring to it as a ''holiday from reality.''

Despite recent polls suggesting Truss will win the Tory leadership contest, Gove noted he thinks the party members will eventually back Sunak as he promises ''only what he knows can be delivered.''
