Greece expands month-long partial lockdown

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Saturday that the country would enter a month-long partial lockdown amid siring coronavirus infections, expanding measures already in place since earlier this month.

As part of the new restrictions, which are becoming more common in Europe every day, a nationwide curfew from 12:00 am to 5:00 am will be introduced. Moreover, masks will be mandatory to wear everywhere, while restaurants (except take away orders), gyms and cultural venues will all close until December.

Greece has seen a gradual increase in COVID-19 infections since early October.
