Gulf of Mexico oil output to fall by 190,000 bpd - US

The United States oil production in the Gulf of Mexico will lose 190,358 barrels per day, or 11% of the total oil output in the region, due to the shut-in procedure in response to Hurricane Ian that is approaching American shores, United States Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) revealed on Tuesday.

"Based on data from offshore operator reports submitted as of 11:30 AM CDT today, personnel have been evacuated from a total of 12 production platforms, which represents 2.3 percent of the 521 manned platforms in the Gulf of Mexico," the BSEE specified.

The agency working under the US Department of the Interior further noted that "8.56 percent of the natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico has been shut-in."
