Habeck: Germany doesn't rule out gas price intervention

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck (pictured) stated on Tuesday that Germany doesn't rule out intervening in gas pricing.

The minister's remarks come amid widespread concern about the rising prices of that commodity all over the continent due to supply conditions and the plans to continue curbing gas imports from Russia. In that line, Habeck added that fears of a recession in Germany are at this point "overwhelming."

Moreover, he further mentioned that Germany wants to prevent a breakdown of energy supply chains and will not pass on gas costs to customers "immediately."
