Hamas vows to continue attacks as Gaza death toll rises

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh stated that the group will continue their rocket attacks into Israel, as long as the country doesn't stop "all scenes of terrorism and aggression in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa mosque."

The Israel Defense Force confirmed through Twitter that shelling from Gaza has been non-stop from 5 pm CET on Monday, making it more than 10 hours of continuous attacks, and over 160 rockets were fired towards Jerusalem and southern Israel. Hamas also stated that it would turn the southern town of Ashkelon "into hell," following Israel's renewed strikes into the civilian parts of Gaza.

Meanwhile, the death toll from Israel's retaliatory strikes towards Gaza continued to rise, as, apart from eight confirmed Hamas operatives, 20 civilians have been killed, including nine children. At the same time, the Palestinian Red Crescent estimated that more than 700 Palestinians were hurt during the clashes in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
