House to vote on relief bill on Friday - Hoyer
United States House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (pictured center) said that the lower congressional chamber will on Friday vote on the $1.9 trillion-worth economic support package, proposed by President Joe Biden.
"The American people strongly support this bill, and we are moving swiftly to see it enacted into law," said Hoyer about the so-called, American Rescue Plan.
The House of Representatives had initially advanced the resolution with two Democrats crossing the aisle to oppose the bill. The Senate later slowed the passage of the legislation by adopting a series of amendments the House needed to pass before moving on to a budget reconciliation bill that would fast-track this phase of coronavirus relief.
