Huawei launches Mate 30 flagship phone

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. unveiled its new flagship smartphone on Thursday, the Mate 30, running on an open-source version of Android 10 that doesn't have support for Google's apps due to the United States ban on the Chinese firm.

The premium dual-SIM device features a 6.53-inch "Horizon" display with an aspect ratio of 18.4:9 and an ability to stay "always on." Colors available are black, space silver and cosmic purple. The battery has a capacity of 4,500 mAh and can be charged with a "superfast" 27W charger.

Huawei also revealed two "Vegan Leather" versions of the phone which come in orange and forest green. The company's latest Kirin 990 processor powers the new phone, which is 5G capable. The manufacturer claimed that download speeds achievable by the device are 25 times faster than 4G.

The phone will be priced €799, while the pro version will come at €1099. The version with 5G will cost €1199, and the Porsche design edition will have a €2095 price tag.
