Hunt: More work needed before meaningful vote

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt (pictured) said on Monday that there remains "a huge amount of work" before the government can proceed with Tuesday's parliamentary vote on the government's Brexit deal. "We need to be comfortable that we’ll have the numbers," he told reporters in Brussels as MPs are expected to once again decide on Prime Minister Theresa May's withdrawal agreement after rejecting it twice.

"The risk of no-deal, at least as far as the UK parliament is concerned, has receded somewhat but the risk of Brexit paralysis has not," Hunt pointed out.

On Sunday, Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond said the government would put May's withdrawal agreement for a third Commons vote only if "enough of our colleagues and the DUP [Democratic Unionist Party] are prepared to support it."
