Investor confidence in Eurozone improves further in January

Investor confidence in the Eurozone for January observed a further improvement, with the Investor Confidence Index coming in at negative 17.5, going up from negative 21 recorded for December and standing higher than analysts predicted, Sentix revealed in its report released on Monday.

The figure matched the previous month's achievement by reaching its highest level since June 2022. The Current Situation Index and the Expectations Index also saw an elevation, standing in at negative 19.3 and negative 15.8, hitting their highest value since August and February 2022, respectively.

"Investors are hoping for a mild recession. In Germany, too, the overall index is improving," Sentix said in the report. "However, [...] [p]ersistent negative signs continue to indicate that the economic environment remains very challenging and that no all-clear can be given."
