Investors want board changes at Boeing - report

Investor advisors are calling for Boeing Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Muilenburg to be removed from the former position so that an independent chairman could take over efforts to rebuild the company's reputation following the Boeing 737 MAX crashes, an FT report said, citing a report from Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS).

The ISS noted that Boeing must react in a time when it faces "serious challenges in regaining the confidence of regulators, airlines, pilots and passengers worldwide." Additionally, the advisors commented that any repeat scenarios could be "devastating" for the American aircraft maker.

Earlier, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that Boeing's latest software update makes the 737 MAX "operationally suitable."
