Iran agrees to S. Korea's unfreezing assets terms - FM

The South Korean Foreign Ministry confirmed on Tuesday Iran had agreed to Seoul's conditions to unfreeze Tehran's assets locked in the East Asian country.

"During the meeting between the ambassador and the Iranian governor, the two sides inched closer on their opinions as the Iran side expressed consent to the proposals we have made," spokesperson Choi Young-sam said. "The actual unfreezing of the assets will be carried out through consultations with related countries, including the United States."

Seoul and Tehran previously agreed to negotiate over unfreezing Iran's assets after the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) seized a South Korean tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
