Iran calls for 'concrete actions' to save JCPOA

Iran called on its international "friends" on Friday to take "concrete actions" in order to save the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known as the Iran nuclear deal, AFP reported. Meanwhile, the country's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Beijing today for a bilateral visit.

The official was yesterday in Japan where he also discussed the deal with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono, seeking Tokyo's help in maintaining the nuclear deal.

On Thursday, United States President Donald Trump expressed his "hopes" that Washington will not go to war against Tehran despite the escalating tensions.
