Italy adds 7,767 daily virus cases, fewest since Oct 14

The number of cases of COVID-19 registered daily in Italy landed on Tuesday at 7,767, its lowest level since October 14, continuing its post-Easter downturn trend and taking the tally of infections recorded since the start of the pandemic to 3,686,707.

On the other hand, the figure for fatalities linked to the disease noted the previous day stood at 421, which marked a significant increase in comparison to Monday. As of today, a total of 111,747 died from the effects of coronavirus in Italy.

Meanwhile, 29,337 remained treated in hospitals and 3,743 in intensive care units. Both figures increased since the previous day by 552 and 6, respectively.
