Italy considers stricter coronavirus measures

The Italian government is considering introducing more restrictive measures against the coronavirus pandemic, as the daily rise in cases reached a record high. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will announce the decision on Sunday, if it is reached, according to La Stampa.

The new measures would include the closure of gyms, swimming pools and ski resorts, as well as theaters and concert venues. Bars and restaurants would stay open until 6 pm, except on Sundays, when they would be closed. Travelling between municipalities would also be "strongly discouraged." It is unclear how long the measures would stay in effect.
