Jab delay might slow down vaccination in Ireland - PM

Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach) Micheal Martin stated on Saturday the delay in deliveries of AstraZeneca PLC and Oxford University's jab against COVID-19 could slow down mass vaccination in his country, including for the elderly.

Martin said AstraZeneca was "going to be the catalyst to be allowed to move from low level to mass vaccination" but that the delay would "put us in a problem."

His comments come shortly after AstraZeneca informed the European Commission it would not be able to deliver as many doses as planned.
