Jaguar to go fully electric by 2025 - CEO

Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Thierry Bollore announced plans on Monday that Jaguar will become an all-electric luxury brand by 2025, while Land Rover will launch six pure-electric models over the next five years.

"In the next five years, Land Rover will welcome six pure-electric variants as it continues to be the world leader of luxury SUVs through its three families of Range Rover, Discovery and Defender. The first all-electric variant will arrive in 2024," the company stated, adding that "by the middle of the decade, Jaguar will have undergone a renaissance to emerge as a pure-electric luxury brand with a dramatically beautiful new portfolio of emotionally engaging designs and pioneering next-generation technologies."

Land Rover added it also plans to sell around 60% of its cars in pure-electric form by the 2030s. Shares of parent company Tata Motors surged almost 80% since the start of the year to $22.58 per share at the New York stock exchange.
