Japan Airlines to raise $2.7B to fight virus impact - report

Japan Airlines Co. Ltd. is planning to raise ¥300 billion yen ($2.7 billion) to help alleviate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on its business, Nikkei Asia reported on Thursday, citing anonymous sources.

Japan's flag carrier intends to obtain the funds through subordinated loans and bond issuance, according to the report.

The airline reportedly aims to allocate the funds to initiatives to cut carbon its footprint, in addition to relieving its operating expenses.
