Japan PM gives updates on state of emergency
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced on Friday the government would end the state of emergency introduced to halt the spread of COVID-19 in six of the country's prefectures – Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Aichi, Gifu, and Fukuoka.
Suga added his team administration to lift the aforementioned measures in the rest of Japan, including Tokyo, on March 7.
As of Friday, Japan has recorded 429,472 cases and 7,722 coronavirus-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
