Japan, S. Korea FMs have 'good talks' at G7 meeting

Toshimitsu Motegi and Chung Eui-yong, foreign ministers of, respectively, Japan and South Korea, had on Wednesday what the latter described as "good talks" at the Group of Seven's (G7) meeting that is currently taking place in London.

"The talks proceeded in a good atmosphere, and this served as an opportunity for the earnest start of communication between the two countries," Chung said, adding that both ministers are ready to work on shared issues and improving the relations between the two countries.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga both previously called for easing tensions between Tokyo and Seoul, particularly amid what they deem a mutual threat of North Korea.
