Japan's trade surplus drops nearly 98% to ¥1.1B

Japan's trade surplus decreased 98% to reach ¥1.1 billion in September, the country's Finance Ministry said on Monday. The trade balance missed the estimates as the surplus was expected to reach ¥51.3 billion.

The exports in the first half of fiscal 2019 amounted to ¥37.58 billion, slipping 6.1% year-over-year. Meanwhile, the imports lowered 3.3% to reach ¥37.6 billion.

Japan had the largest trade partners in the United State and China in September.
