Japan's industrial output rises by 4% in September

Japan's industrial production expanded by 4% in September compared to the month before as the seasonally adjusted index landed at 91.6 to beat the analysts' expectations, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry unveiled in a report on Friday.

Compared to the same month a year prior, the Asian country's industrial output decreased by 9%.

During the ninth month, industrial inventories dipped 0.3% compared to August's figure and 5.5% on annual basis, while shipments expanded by 3.8% on a monthly level but plunged 9.9% year-over-year. The inventory ratio rose 7.5% compared to September 2019, but declined by 3.7% monthly, the data showed.
