Japan's industrial production drops 4.2% MoM in October

Japanese industrial production decreased 4.2% on a monthly basis in October, with the Seasonally Adjusted index reaching 98.9, the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry said on Friday. Industrial output declined 7.4% compared with the same period last year.

Shipments rose 4.3% compared to September as the Seasonally Adjusted Index stood at 98.3 in October. On an annual basis, the index of shipments went down 7.1% over the same period.

Meanwhile, with the seasonally adjusted inventories index amounted to 104.1 in October, the Japanese economy's inventories rose 1.2% month-over-month, while compared with the year prior, inventories rose 2.5%.

Inventory ratio increased 4.7% monthly with the seasonally adjusted index reaching 113.5, enough to beat the results from October 2018 by 9.6%.
