Javid: No-deal not perfect, but govt won't seek Brexit delay

United Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid said on Monday that a no-deal Brexit would not be "perfect" but insisted the British government is still planning to take the country out of the European Union at the end of October with or without an agreement.

Speaking at an event in Manchester, Javid expressed hope that the UK will exit the EU with a deal. However, he pointed out that the UK government's position remains "unchanged" despite the Parliament's efforts to prevent a no-deal scenario and reiterated Prime Minister Boris Johnson's stance that Britain will not request another Article 50 extension.

On Sunday, Johnson stated that he does not intend to resign in order to avoid asking for a Brexit delay, while some MPs earlier suggested Parliament could hold a no-confidence vote in the government if it refuses to seek an extension.
