Jeffries: House to vote on border deal on Thursday

Representative and Chairman of the Democratic Caucus Hakeem Jeffries (pictured) said on Wednesday said the House of Representatives would vote on the bipartisan deal to keep the government open past February 15 on Thursday. "The overwhelming majority of the House Democratic Caucus will support this legislation that will be presented on the House floor tomorrow," he said at a press briefing.

Meanwhile, a report signaling President Donald Trump will sign the tentative agreement reached by Republicans and Democrats emerged despite stating earlier he is neither "happy" nor "thrilled" with the proposal. The deal includes around $1.4 billion for roughly 80 kilometers of new border barriers with Mexico, far below the $5.7 billion Trump demanded.
