Jenrick says national lockdown is not right measure

British Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government Robert Jenrick (pictured) stated on Thursday that the government intends to do whatever it takes to avoid putting the country into a second national lockdown but has admitted that the coronavirus situation is "bad in all parts of the country."

Jenrick told Sky News the government is taking advice from the scientists "on an almost daily basis," and noted that he believes that the virus can be contained through local measures. He also added that the government is aware of the lockdown being "immensely disruptive," and that it's not the right measure.

According to the last information the United Kingdom announced 24,701 new COVID-19 infection daily cases, resulting in a total number of 942,275 since the pandemic's start.
