Johnson doesn't dismiss COVID lab origin theory

United Kingdom's Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated on Sunday that "anybody sensible would keep an open mind" about the origins of COVID-19, including that it could have started in a Wuhan lab in China. However, he added the current scientific advice suggests it "doesn't look as if it came from a lab."

Johnson said the G7 countries agreed to strengthen the World Health Organization (WHO) and its capabilities to investigate future pandemics. He added the goal is to give WHO inspectors powers similar to those of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons or the International Atomic Energy Agency, so they can "try to determine as independently as possibly what is going on."
