Johnson: NATO aware of challenges from China

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is aware of the challenges China represents in the modern world, United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the press conference after the NATO summit in London, Johnson noted that none of the allies see China as a "strategic enemy" and that NATO and China need to build a "strategic partnership." However, NATO must be aware of China's high technology advancements, Johnson stressed.

The prime minister added that the UK will make a decision on Huawei's 5g technology deployment in the UK by taking into account the country's security infrastructure. He added that he does not wish the UK to be "unnecessary hostile to investment from overseas."
