Johnson: Possible tougher measures for int'l arrivals

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Wednesday the government might impose tougher measures for international arrivals, particularly from France, amid rising numbers of infections from COVID-19 throughout Europe.

"We'll get the findings of the Global Travel Taskforce, and I'll be setting out what we think may be possible from May 17," he stated. "Things are looking difficult on the continent. We'll have to look at the situation as it develops."

Leader of the Opposition Sir Keir Starmer previously criticized Johnson's government for not securing the country's borders "in the way we should have done," especially during the summer holiday season last year.
