Johnson says will not negotiate delay with EU

Any further delay of Britain's withdrawal from the European Union would be "bad for this country, bad for the EU and for democracy," stated United Kingdom's Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Parliament on Saturday, right after MPs adopted the Letwin amendment.

Johnson also stressed he will not negotiate a Brexit delay with the EU and asserted that the law doesn't require him to do so.

The prime minister announced that withdrawal deal legislation will be introduced in Parliament next week and expressed hope MPs will vote in favor of it. "The best thing for the UK and the whole of Europe is for us to leave with this new deal on 31 October," he added.
