JPMorgan's Dimon: US-China trade spat becoming real issue

Chief Executive Officer of JPMorgan, Jamie Dimon said on Tuesday that the months-long trade dispute between the United States and China is becoming a "real issue" with the potential to hurt corporate confidence and deter investment.

"Trade has gone from being a skirmish to being far more important than that," Dimon said at a conference in New York. "If this goes south in a bad way, and you have other surprises, that could be part of the thing that changes confidence, changes people willing to invest."

Dimon added that the escalating trade conflict between the world's two largest economies has already led businesses to make changes to their supply chains, which could "obviously slow down business investment and cause uncertainty of all different types."
