Judge blocks construction of private border wall

The construction of a private stretch of the US-Mexico border wall in Texas was put to stop for the time being in a state district court ruling due to the possibility of inflicting "imminent and irreparable harm" to a butterfly sanctuary.

The private group We Build the Wall which ordered the construction in support of President Trump, was on Tuesday ordered to halt the construction on land plots owned by the National Butterfly Center. Group's founder Brian Kolfage told CNN that he is not aware of a restraining order, describing the ruling as "more fake news."

President Trump declared national emergency on the Mexico border on February 15 in order to collect the money and deliver on one of his key 2016 election campaign promises but has since faced various challenges to turning it into reality, even though he repeatedly claimed that other countries will pay for it.
