Kioxia warns on chip oversupply due to US anti-China measures

Formerly known as Toshiba Memory, the world's second-biggest flash memory chips manufacturer Kioxia Holdings Corp asserted on Thursday that stricter United States limitations on Huawei Technologies Co Ltd can lead to oversupply in memory chips and that could decrease market prices.

In its regulatory filing, Kioxia also warned that almost all of its chip sales to the Chinese phone producer could become subject to the US government's restrictions that became effective this week.

New US Commerce Department rules forbid any firm whose production process involves any American technology from supplying Huawei with products.
