Kishida: Japan to curb wheat, fuel prices

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Monday that he has instructed Agriculture Minister Tetsuro Nomura to freeze the price of imported wheat sold to domestic milling companies starting from October.

In addition, Kishida asked Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura to develop a plan to reduce fuel prices beginning in October. The ministry has also been requested to look into additional measures to address the energy crisis and the rising energy bills for households.
