Kushner said Trump took US back from doctors - report

United States President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner had stated in April that Trump was "getting the country back from the doctors" during the economic reopening, CNN reported on Wednesday, citing an alleged audio recording of Kushner it obtained.

"Trump's now back in charge. It's not the doctors. They've kind of - we have, like, a negotiated settlement," Kushner reportedly told journalist Bob Woodward, adding that a "comeback phase" of the pandemic began when the interview took place on April 18.

As for the people that surrounded the president, Kushner supposedly noted that "the most dangerous" ones are the "over-confident idiots" as Trump had a tendency to follow their advice if there was no one to oppose their ideas. However, Kushner stressed that, at the time of the interview, the president had "a lot more thoughtful people who kind of know their place and know what to do" at his disposal.
