Lagarde: Supply bottlenecks, energy prices main risks for recovery

European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde said on Thursday that supply bottlenecks and rising energy prices present the "main risks" for the pace of economic recovery in the near term.

Lagarde stressed that these pressures are expected to ease next year, but in case they do last longer, they could slow down the recovery and inflation is likely to "take longer to decline" than initially expected.

The ECB president also noted the recovery will depend on the "course of the pandemic" and the pace of vaccination against COVID-19.
