Lavrov claims NATO could've stopped Ukraine crisis

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov underscored on Wednesday that the NATO could have prevented the ongoing crisis in Europe had it not rejected proposals put forward by the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), claiming that the alliance refused to listen to Moscow "for decades."

Speaking at the United Nations Security Council meeting, Lavrov accussed the West of lacking arguments for an "honest dialogue" on Ukrainian issues and underlined that, upon Washington's command, Kiev could revoke decree that bans dialogue with Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded that Russia's veto power in the United Nations Security Council be removed, claiming that it is "impossible" to end the Ukraine war "because all actions are vetoed by the aggressor."
